As sustainable development becomes an increasingly vital aspect of policymaking, renewable energy deployment has become a major challenge for many economies. Developing and emerging economies are no exception.
In fact, these countries experience the need to excel in this area, especially due to their growing presence in the global economy as they continue to expand. Fortunately, Africa is blessed with many abundant resources that will allow the continent to increase its renewable energy generation significantly, if there is the necessary investment and infrastructural changes made.
This article will explore the current situation of Africa’s clean energy investment landscape, as well as revealing the potential Africa holds with respect to solar PV and hydrogen as power sources. These renewable sources of energy combined with effective governance are expected to allow sustainable development to progress further in Africa.
