Criminal cases represent the worst defeat for a society. Faced with the daily and frightening reality of violence, some cases gain greater media coverage, either due to the involvement of certain people or due to the brutal occurrence with ordinary or anonymous people. It turns out that although this work can fulfill an important social role of information and even prevention and care, the same information can generate prejudice and misinformation, especially about the life of the alleged criminal. Once the image of a suspect is created, it is natural for the population to have an image of the culprit. However, in Brazil, there is the principle of innocence and only those who are convicted can be considered guilty. In this sense, can the media hinder or help the application of the principle of innocence in Brazil?
