SUMMARY
São Tomé and Príncipe is a low-middle-income African country with Portuguese as an official language, where extreme poverty leads to great inequalities in health. Little is known about alcohol consumption, in addition to import indicators and distribution by the population. There are no studies carried out on this subject in children and adolescents and any preventive measures are unknown. In addition, manual databases have significant limitations, given the lack of causes associated with mortality rates (0 - 5 years and > 5), and inability to establish a cause-effect relationship between diseases and death and average life expectancy. Lack of data on the causes of mortality in the reports of the Centro National de Endemics or in the reports of the non-governmental organization Institute Marquês de Valle Flor, an entity that facilitates health care in selected clinical specialties on a voluntary basis by doctors from Portuguese hospitals.
