SUMMARY

While humanitarian aid should be based solely on needs, some crises garner significantly more attention and assistance than others.
Annually, the Norwegian Refugee Council compiles a list of the ten most neglected displacement crises. They use the word “neglected” to underline that these crises are not simply overlooked but consciously neglected due to purposeful inaction rooted in indifference or lack of prioritisation.
The deliberate neglect threatens lives, global interests, and shared human dignity, necessitating collective action to prioritize prevention, diplomacy, and aid across crises, irrespective of geography or geopolitical significance.
