SUMMARY
Are you a software engineer, investment banker or surgeon to be ? UNESCO proclaimed September 20 as International Day of University Sports. It's time to have fun and enjoy sports to boost physical health and mind.
International University Sports Federation (FISU) is a major sports event organizer. As individuals age they tend to step back from active sports participation yet FISU has advanced University sports ensuring healthy campus program and staging sports events.
Several University student-athletes competed in the recently concluded Olympics games earning the OLY title. This year FISU turns 75 and its events are always memorable as students across the globe have a chance to interact and share ideas.
BACKGROUND
IDUS
International day of University sports is a testament of dual career success stories such as the likes of Dr.Mark Alice, Chris Davis & Drew Endy. IDUS is a day to celebrate University sports as you already know September is a busy month with this year we Celebrate coaches to we mark the 10th Anniversary of National Coaches week.
FISU
Professional athletes account for 0.5 percent and Professional club managers account for 0.1 percent of the global population.
FISU is celebrating 75 years of championing both sports and education with the XXXII World University Winter Games scheduled for 13 to 23 January 2025 and FISU volunteer leaders Academy and FISU world Forum for this year curtain closed.
The international Council for sports science and physical education and FISU have explored collaborations opportunities to strengthen their partnership and promote excellence in sports and education.
National University Sports federations across the globe unite with student athletes and University students to celebrate IDUS.
This year I was thrilled to witness FISU champion S4CA the power of FISU to Unite University athletes across the globe is a testament of its strong vision and mission.
FASU
Africa University Sports Federation with 50 plus year of excellence is hosting one of the largest multi-sports event this year the 11th All Africa university Games scheduled for 20th to 29th September 2024.
Esports is one of the most rapidly growing sectors in the sports and leisure industries will be one of the demonstration sports along side goal ball.
With over 14 sports disciplines Nigeria is the host Country of the 11th FASU games you can't afford to miss Grand slam, precise volley, precise three pointer and the roar of the crowd cheering on track and field athletes.
Aupal Emmanuel had a chance to attend the 2022 All Africa university Games and will be attending the 11th All Africa university Games he revealed that there's no frog leaping forward to the Gold medal as the competitions are always intense and each athlete wants Gold.
Today, on International Day of University Sports, we proudly salute the unsung heroes parents who selflessly foster their children's athletic dreams, exemplified by Nigeria and South Africa.
EUSA
European University Sports Association with 25 plus year of Innovation.
The European University Games always attract international volunteers. Poland is one of the countries that are very competitive and bridge is a popular game in Poland.
ERAMUS EUSA projects and EUSA SHARE2.0 membership are good initiatives something I can't forget is the opportunity I got to volunteer at EUG2023 rowing in Poland.
Would like to Commend University of Antwerp for always hosting the fair play games and promoting sportsmanship.
FISU ASIA
FISU ASIA with 30 plus years of University Sports pioneering in Asia
I was impressed by China's mindsports championship hosting and South Korea's University sports projects leave alone Chengdu Games where many dreams came true.
FISU AMERICA
FISU America with 10 plus years of University Sports Promotion. The U SPORTS female apprentice coach Program aims to increase the number of females in coaching positions across Canadian universities.
FISU OCEANIA
FISU Oceania with 10 plus years of championing University sports in Oceania.
FISU Oceania has several FISU sports event representation with Australia piling 57 medals from FISU events.
CONCLUSION
As we celebrate IDUS 2024 and FISU at 75 would like to see more host cities taking advantage of FISU host City Flexibility and more students participation in University sports.
May the collective passion of NUSFs and student athletes ignite a legacy that inspires generations to come and looking Forward to FISU at 100.
