SUMMARY

Globally, several lives of women are lost due to intimate partner violence experienced at the hands of abusers in the name of desire to portray power or authority, love, culture, beliefs guided by witchcraft, and overall lack of proper frameworks to support victims. Further, the need to act urgently and save the lives of the victims of such violence may be acknowledged by several authorities or entities in charge but the limitations or gaps in prior literature, and limited evidence on different forms of violence in diverse cultural settings have allowed several perpetrators to intentionally defy the rights of their victims, exploit their vulnerabilities and live freely without any judicial implications in some countries.
