SUMMARY
Every day, thousands of Africans especially West Africa and Central Africa undertake a perilous journey to seek refuge and protection in a country other than their own. In search of opportunities, fleeing hunger and violence or prosecution, these Africans leave everything behind and follow illegal routes, only to become modern-day slaves. This article looks at this horrendous and terrifying migrant journey through the scorching heat of the Sahara Desert, the inhumane conditions in Libya, Tripoli, and the cold waters of the Mediterranean Sea.
