The figures show it remains the world’s low and middle-income countries, not wealthy states that host the most displaced people. Low- and middle-income countries hosted 76% of the world’s refugees and others in need of international protection. High-income countries, which account for most of the global wealth, hosted 24% of refugees at end-2022.
