Summary
The rankings for average life expectancies across the world has been released for 2023. While Monaco leads with an average of 89.5 years, countries such as Chad fall behind with the lowest average of 54 years. While there are many factors that impact lifespan, it is clear that the most prominent and influential factor is money. Residents in impoverished countries are more likely face food insecurity, be exposed to hazardous living conditions, and be limited to the availability of quality health care. Moving forward, addressing root causes of poverty is crucial to improving life expectancy across the globe.
