restricted to work

Author: JARITZA LAINES

Origin: ECUADOR

SUMMARY Forced labor and human trafficking continue to be practiced in Africa, in a context of extreme and widespread poverty throughout the continent. Some forms of forced labor originate from discrimination against people who descend from families of slaves or result from traditional prejudices; others, however, are related to chronic unemployment and underemployment, resulting in situations so desperate that people are forced to migrate in search of work.
