SUMMARY

On June, 24, over 3.3 million Sierra Leoneans took to the polling stations countrywide to vote for their next president in a hotly contested poll that saw the incumbent Julius Maada Bio of the Sierra Leone People's Party- SLPP winning the elections with 56.17% against 41% of his archrival Samura Kamara. The election results were rejected by the opposition begging a serious question of whether the divided country will work together to revive the struggling economy.
