Summary

Positive changes have been brought about by international efforts to address statelessness in nations like Bangladesh, Estonia, Mauritania, Nepal, and Sri Lanka. However, statelessness still has an impact on about 12 million people worldwide. The need for ongoing integration efforts is highlighted by cases from Bangladesh, Ethiopia, and Kenya that demonstrate the possibility of change through political will and legal measures. In its report, "Nationality Rights for All," Refugees International provides an updated assessment of statelessness around the world and places emphasis on the partnership between NGOs and UNHCR. Governments, international organizations, nongovernmental organizations (NGOs), and individuals must work together to end statelessness because any progress made today will serve as the cornerstone for a future in which statelessness is eradicated and everyone's rights are upheld.
