Author: William Oeseburg

For the past three decades, the United States and its allies have been the most powerful and economically dominant forces on earth. With this great power comes great influence. In an effort to keep the world a unipolar world, it has used this great power to exert its will and influence on almost every country in the world. Since the collapse of the USSR in 1991 The United States has been consolidating its power by entering into alliances and providing protection at the cost of political alignment. However, in the last decade, China has been increasingly trying to challenge this unipolar world and carve out a large portion of the pie so to speak. One of the more recent being BRICS or Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa. BRICS and been low profile so to speak until recently when it was announced the six new countries would be joining the bloc.
