What is the relationship between nutrition and colonisation?

SUMMARY Food represented a powerful biopolitical tool in the hands of colonisers. Despite this, we rarely interrogate the role of diet during colonialism. Nutritional science does not represent an objective discipline; rather, it is imbricated in power structures of race, class, and gender.
