With the progressive manifestation of climate change consequences, it is becoming increasingly evident that ‘business-as-usual’ solutions are insufficient to buffer the severity of its global impact. In Africa, this challenge is amplified due to the continent's vulnerability to environmental change, necessitating urgent and inventive strategies for adaptation.

This urgency for adaptation necessitates the incorporation of indigenous knowledge into contemporary responses. Indigenous knowledge synergized with scientific knowledge and technology can create robust locally contextualized, and widely –applicable adaptation measures. Africa's marginalized indigenous knowledge holds the key to climate resilience; it is time we acknowledged its value and embarked on a journey of equally celebrated wisdom, mainstreaming indigenous understanding back into the heart of African resilience.
