SUMMARY
A medical internship saga in Uganda has uncovered a worrying problem: the denial of freedom of expression and opinion. Graduated medical students, who are required to complete their internship before getting their license, are facing a distressing situation. Despite their rightful demands for deployment, the government hinders their frustrations, resulting in reduced salaries. “Who grants the Freedom of Expression and Opinion in Uganda?” a common but often not asked question. This article explores the ongoing plight of these students, emphasizing the consequences of restricted freedom of expression and the importance of fostering an environment that values open dialogue.
