Brazilian society is guided by a very powerful myth of freedom and equality. After all, the country's Constitution recognizes that “all are equal before the law” and Brazil has one of the most diverse and complex societies in the world – in a very beautiful racial miscegenation speech: we are diverse, but we are equal. Women, men, children, the elderly, everyone is free and “equal”. So, what could be wrong with such an “advanced” society? All. Brazil is one of the most dangerous countries for women in the world and the data doesn't lie. With a culture still rooted in machismo, is gender equality (SDG 5) possible for the 'country of football'? The Women's World Cup has started, and Brazil needs to fight for the cup – on and off the pitch.
