Despite significant progress in gender equality, women still face numerous barriers when it comes to property ownership. Furthermore, the denial of women's right to property is a historical issue perpetuated by patriarchal societies. Legal barriers, cultural and social factors, economic disparities, and violence and discrimination all contribute to this injustice. Efforts towards change include international human rights instruments and legal reforms.
