Summary
Gender roles and societal expectations are significant factors that restrict women from working. These expectations limit their participation in the workforce and often stereotype women as less capable or suitable for certain professions. Limited access to education, family and care responsibilities further hinder women’s employment opportunities. Social stigmatization also discourages women from challengingsocietal norms. The consequences of restricting women from working include perpetuating poverty, reducing diversity and innovation, and hindering social and economic development. Therefore, to tacklethese issues, concerted efforts are need to challenge traditional beliefs, create inclusive policies, and foster a more equitable society. By promoting gender equality and dismantling barriers, societies can unleash the full potential of women, leading to a fairer and more prosperous future for all.
