SUMMARY

Health literacy is vital for every single person worldwide in order for them to make justified, reasonable and informed decisions about their health and health-care. Health literacy is a global public health issue with inequality and inequity playing a role in individuals attainment of adequate health-literacy skills. Building these skills and promoting health-literacy within government and health care systems will ultimately improve mental and physical health outcomes for all.
